Our studio is located in central Kerikeri, within easy walking distance of Kerikeri Primary and High School. Most of our high school aged students (and some primary aged) walk straight from school to the studio.
Our dance studio is a constantly evolving space designed specifically for dance. With a sprung floor, mirrors and dance barres for use in all classes, as well as an air track and various fold out mats for use in acrobatics. It is a second home to many of our dancers and we strive to always ensure it is a safe, welcoming and positive environment for our Dance Vibes whanau.
Each year we give our dancers the opportunity to perform in a large production for the community at The Turner Centre in Kerikeri. In 2023, we embarked on the Dance Vibes production of Alice In Wonderland with an original script and a cast of over 100 local performers of all ages. It was an outstanding success with incredible audience feedback. We look forward to another exciting production in December 2024!

We host Dance Intensive Workshops each school holidays for our senior dancers (12+) and twice a year for our juniors, which are always a highlight for our dancers!. These workshops are an opportunity for dancers to explore a deeper understanding of their dance practise and to try new styles and skills that they may not have experienced. We explore creative mediums such as photography in photoshoots with our wonderful sponsor Claire from Flash Gordon Photography. We also have regular guest teachers attending to coach our performers in singing, tap and drama.
Scholarships:
In 2023, Kellie Hull and I created a charitable trust Friends of Dance Northland with the intention of providing scholarships and subsidies for lower income families. We are always open for scholarship requests and strive to make dance and the performing arts as accessible as possible to our Far North community.
Looking for more than just dance? We are located next door to The Kerikeri Theatre Company’s “Black Box Theatre” which offers child and youth drama classes with Miriam Collins. Also, our friend and trusted associate Tania Priebs-Cook operates The Centre Of Vocal Excellence and has you covered for all your vocal tuition needs.
